Your body has a message for you. Chronic pain unraveled...

 

Do you suffer from chronic pain? Or do you struggle with other annoying conditions, such as hay fever, eczema, allergies or fatigue?

Then you have probably already tried a lot to get rid of the complaints. You have visited countless doctors and have been disappointed each time. You feel misunderstood and may have had to give up a lot. Despite fighting, trying and persevering, no one has really been able to help you for a long time.

As good as it goes, you have learned to deal with your complaints. You may be on heavy medication, have tried other forms of pain relief, or have had all kinds of surgical procedures. With all the associated consequences, but without the desired, sustainable result.

Trust me, I know exactly what that feels like! I myself have dealt with all kinds of chronic complaints for most of my life: low back pain, fatigue, migraines and headaches, allergies, fibromyalgia. Since I was 30, however, this is a thing of the past! I was able to resolve my complaints. And knowing that this CAN be done, I have studied it, trained and gained a lot of experience in working with people with chronic pain complaints.

I know what it is like to be plagued by chronic complaints for months or even years. Such complaints often have a huge impact on our daily life and well-being. You have probably been referred to a rehabilitation center for this, after extensive research and treatment within the medical and alternative circuit. Here you have learned how to deal with the complaints, which factors have a positive or negative influence on them and to accept the limitations. In the case of a chronic illness and permanent physical limitations, a multidisciplinary trajectory is indeed very useful and important. But the goal of such a trajectory is not pain relief or reduction.​​

Despite everything you've tried so far, there's probably one thing you haven't done yet: let your body do the talking!

Every week, hundreds of people worldwide learn to really listen to their body through this method and to get a grip on their complaints. OldPain2Go® uses various conversation techniques, which address the natural recovery mechanism of the body. The practitioner acts as a translator. With the personal and professional experience of the counselor it becomes possible for you to understand and solve the story behind your complaints.​

Because, chronic pain doesn't have to be lifelong!

Since this concerns conversations, treatment is possible both in practice and online, in the languages ​​Dutch and English. So the main question is...

If you are willing to look at your complaints as a teacher, a whole new world will open up for you! You will come to appreciate your body (even more) and realize how important it is to listen to your body's whispers so that it doesn't have to yell at you. You will realize how important it is to be authentically yourself, to live based on your values ​​and trust and in connection with your body. No more fighting...no more rejecting yourself...

Suppose you have problems with your back. In conversation it appears that you carry heavy emotional, financial and/or psychological burdens with you. Your body wants to point out to you that you "shouldn't take things so seriously" and that you can have more confidence in yourself and life.

Or suppose you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Despite the terrible pain you just keep going, on, on. You don't let anything or anyone slow you down. But what if "take it easy" is exactly what your body really wants from you?

But what if you've already started taking it easy? You have taken adequate action by taking your body's signals seriously, seen a doctor, been examined and, if possible, diagnosed. You've taken therapies, invested time, effort, and money, and maybe you even really understand what your body is saying! But the pain is still there... Then what?

 

In that case, it is often necessary to update the pain program. Your system should, as it were, still receive the signal that the "fire alarm" can be switched off.

Together we will unravel the reasons behind your pain/complaints. You gain insight into the why of the complaints and what your body wants to tell you. We will then communicate with that part of your system that is responsible for the persistent pain. We then have that part re-evaluated to what extent it is necessary to maintain the pain (intensity) and whether it is safe to reduce or even eliminate the pain completely!

 

We therefore tackle the problem at the source, so that the result is permanent. After all, once a voicemail message has been tapped and deleted, it's really gone! That's how it works here too.

 

OldPain2Go® is suitable for (pain) complaints that have existed for a long time (at least 3 months) and have been sufficiently examined and diagnosed. So always make sure that you are "finished" on a physical level and that they can offer you nothing more than suppressing the pain (with painkillers for example) or learning to deal with it before you sign up.

Can this also work for you?

There are, of course, never any guarantees. And if you've been in pain for a long time and have tried everything to get rid of it, I can well imagine that you are skeptical. I would be too, if it weren't for being pain free for nearly 10 years after suffering 18 years of low back pain after falling from a swing. Were it not that after a doctor told me that I had fibromyalgia, I immediately completely turned my life around and have hardly ever experienced complaints of this nature (unless I really go too far). Were it not that my chronic fatigue turned out to be related to diet-related causes and I have also managed to get it under control. Were it not for the fact that 18 years ago I freed myself from chronic headaches and migraines.

 

These and other personal and professional experiences have motivated me to help others dealing with similar complaints.

What is important to know is that pain normally has a warning function. This is very useful when there is a problem, threat or (potential) damage. Pain ensures that we properly assess the problem and take appropriate action. The worse the pain, the more urgent it feels for us to go to the doctor and have the problem examined.

However, when we have taken enough action and the problem is fixed and healed or may never go away and there is nothing more that can be done but pain relief, then the time has come when OldPain2Go® can help - even if nothing else worked until then has.

 

Of course, this method also applies that it does not work (equally well) for everyone. No method or therapy does that. In this case, personal factors play a major role. I try to take this into account as much as possible in advance.

Is it safe?

You may be wondering if it is safe to turn off pain? I can reassure you about this...

 

* Firstly, I will never use OldPain2Go® for complaints that have not yet been sufficiently investigated medically and where the pain acts as a warning signal and tries to encourage you to take action.

* Secondly, this method works through the body's natural repair mechanism in conjunction with your own subconscious mind: the same mechanism responsible for keeping you alive, your heartbeat, the functioning of your lungs, the cells and all the other biochemical processes in your body . All we will do together is let your subconscious know that the message has arrived and/or that the pain is doing you more harm than good right now. Your subconscious then weighs the pros and cons and will always put your safety first. If there is a reason, of any kind, to keep the pain, your unconscious will not take the pain away. Keeping you alive is his main job!

* Third, we free up the painful area for new signals, unlike what painkillers and pain relief do. This is also safer than allowing the old pain to continue and possibly missing a new warning. This area is therefore not anaesthetized, but is made free to be able to communicate with you again.

It is also important to mention that there are no doctors associated with the Wellness in Mind practice and that no attempt is made to cure you of any ailments or illnesses. The focus is on complaints that no longer have a warning function. It is therefore essential to have the complaints medically examined before registering. If it turns out that there is (still) a medical reason for the complaints, then further examination by a doctor will be necessary.

 

Wellness in Mind's services are complementary in nature and should only be used to support any medication or regular medical treatment. Although it may happen that you no longer feel the need to take painkillers after a consultation, you are urged to discuss this with your treating doctor at all times.

What happens after the session?

You will usually feel an improvement during the session. Sometimes the process continues afterwards or we make an action plan to get started with what has been learned.

However, it can be quite challenging to turn the messages you receive into appropriate action. For example, if we find out that your complaints are related to a traumatic experience. Or that you are invited to stand up for yourself, while you are not used to doing this and perhaps find it very exciting. Yet your body asks for this. Of course you decide what to do with it. If you need help with this and would like to learn more about "befriending your body" and really understand it, I can offer you some conversations from my practice. We will then work together to improve your communication with your body and to (learn to) do what it asks of you. All this is aimed at giving you back control and freedom.
